Shipping Update: Why Our Fees Are Changing
Why Lorcana card shipping fees are changing: USPS's new non-machinable surcharge and what it means for your next order at SSR TCG.

We wanted to give everyone a heads-up about a shipping cost change you may start noticing on orders — and explain exactly why it's happening.
What's going on with USPS
Over the past few weeks, a number of our envelopes have been coming back marked "postage due," even though they met eBay's official envelope requirements. After digging into it, we found the cause: some of our envelopes aren't making it through USPS's automated sorting machines, and when that happens, USPS applies a non-machinable surcharge.
That surcharge takes our postage from $0.76 to $1.36 per envelope — nearly double — and it's happening on mail that's fully compliant with eBay's own packaging standards. Right now it seems to depend on how a given envelope happens to run through USPS equipment on any given day, which makes it hard to predict or avoid consistently.
Why we can't just absorb it
Here's the problem in real numbers. On a typical $2 card sale:
eBay's selling fee: $0.27 (13.25%)
eBay's final order fee: $0.30
USPS postage (with the new surcharge): $1.36
That adds up to $1.93 in costs on a $2 sale — leaving us about $0.07 to work with. At that margin, we simply can't keep shipping single cards for free while we absorb a postage increase this large.
What we're changing
Until USPS clarifies its policy or we find a more reliable workaround, we're introducing a flat shipping fee of $1.36 on orders, plus $0.20 for each additional card in the same order.
We're also working within a hard limit: once an order reaches about 16 cards, it no longer fits in a standard envelope and has to ship in a bubble mailer instead, which comes with its own higher postage cost. So orders that size or larger will be handled a little differently — we'll have more detail on that soon.
What happens next
We don't love passing along a cost increase, and we're keeping a close eye on this. If USPS eases up on the non-machinable fee, or we find packaging that consistently avoids it, we'll adjust pricing back down right away. In the meantime, thank you for bearing with us — we're doing our best to keep pricing fair while we sort this out.
