Into the Wilds Unknown—And Into More Classrooms: SSR TCG Donates Another 3,000 Lorcana Cards

Some stories are worth telling a third time.
Back in early June, we found ourselves right back where we love to be: at the same local elementary school we've now visited more than once, boxes in hand, doing the part of running a Disney Lorcana shop that never gets old—giving cards away instead of selling them.
This round, the donation was 3,000 cards from Wilds Unknown, Lorcana's newest set and the first to let Pixar characters loose in the game. Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and the Incredibles showing up in Illumineer's Trove was a big deal for us as shop owners. Watching a classroom full of kids open packs and find Buzz Lightyear staring back at them for the first time was a different kind of chaos than we've seen from the last two donations. Good chaos.
For anyone just catching up, this is our third trip through these classroom doors. The first time, we sent over 2,700 cards in 90 prebuilt starter decks. The second time, we came back with 4,500 cards packed into 150 ready-to-play sets for the 4th and 5th graders (you can read about that one here). This time we brought fewer cards but didn't cut any corners—every one of the 3,000 Wilds Unknown cards went out the door already sorted and playable, because nothing kills classroom momentum like a teacher trying to untangle commons from rares between bells.
We keep saying it because it keeps being true: trading card games build more than collections. They build vocabulary, math skills, social confidence, and the kind of shared experience that turns classmates into friends. Watching a kid who's never picked up a card before get walked through the basics by a classmate who has is worth more to us than any single sale we'll make all year.
A huge thank you to the teachers and staff who keep making room for this—coordinating drop-offs, carving time out of packed school days, and trusting a couple of card shop owners to bring something good into their rooms. None of this works without you saying yes, again and again.
So what's next? We're not slowing down. If a set called Wilds Unknown has taught us anything, it's that there's always more uncharted territory worth exploring—and we plan on bringing plenty more of it to this school, and hopefully a few others, before we're done.
Many thanks for reading until the end!
